WHAT IS A 2-STEP GEL POLISH ?
In.Hype launched a new innovative line of 2-step gel polishes. 2-Step gel polish can be applied without a base coat or bonder. This product requires NO base coat or bonder, and requires minimal buffing of nail surface with 240 grid buffer file before application. This product is formulated to blend with our pigment concentrates to create a finished polish that lasts 2+ weeks with Less damage to natural nails.
*Please note: some nail types (more oily) might still require a base coat for better adhesion.
2-Step UV/LED Gel Polish – Sheer Pink
Transparent gel polish with light pink tint in it. It is basically a nail enhancer that gives your natural nails a shiny, healthy glow. It is a perfect gel for someone who likes sheer looks and wants to strengthen the nails at the same time.
CONSISTENCY: Jelly, smooth, fluid consistency – no streaks and product on the cuticles. Non-bulky consistency allows to apply the gel in a thin layer to control the opacity of the coverage.
COVERAGE: THIN AND NATURAL LOOKING. From clear sheer pink shade (apply 1 layer) to more opaque pink (apply 2-3 layers). A layer of IN.HYPE Gel Polish is thin so it looks very natural.
CURING: Can be cured using either UV Lamp or LED Lamp. (30 sec – 1 min depending on the lamp power).
REMOVING: The removal process involves soaking and only takes up to 5 minutes without dehydrating, damaging or weakening the nails.
HOW TO APPLY
HOW TO USE GEL NAIL POLISH ?
STEP 1 – Clean Your Nails. You must have clean, FULLY dry nails in order for gel polish to adhere correctly. Push the cuticle and slightly buff the nail plate with nail buffer to remove the shine. Remove any remaining oil or debris from your nail with a use a lint free wipe soaked with 91% alcohol to cleanse your nails of any extra debris.
STEP 2 – Apply a thin coat of IN.HYPE Base Coat. (You can skip this step if you use In.Hype 2-step gel polish). Make sure to seal the edge of each nail with the Base Coat to keep moisture from penetrating under the finished polish. Remove any excess from cuticle ! Cure for 1 min under UV lamp or 30 seconds under LED lamp.
STEP 3 – Apply a thin coat of IN.HYPE Gel Color. Make sure to seal the edges of each nail. Whip excess polish from brush into bottle before applying Color to your nails. Remove any excess polish from cuticle. Cure for 1 min under UV lamp or 30 seconds under LED lamp.
Note:
Many of our colors need only one coat for a rich, even finish. For darker coverage, repeat Color application step to apply a second coat of polish. Please note that our polish is ‘self-leveling’ and will cover any ridges you may have in your nail surface.
STEP 4 – Apply a thin coat of In.Hype Top Coat. Make sure to seal the edges of your nails with the Top Coat to keep moisture from penetrating under the finished product. It is important to make sure to apply Top Coat over the entire nail.
STEP 5: Remember to cleanse your nails with at least 70% Isopropyl Alcohol after the final cure under the UV/LED lamp. Apply alcohol on a lint-free wipe and thoroughly clean surface of each nail. This will remove the tacky residue from the Top coat and achieve the shiny, hard, diamond like finish!
STEP 1 – File off the top layer.
To remove your gel nails, you first need to file off the top layer of the gel. This will take away the shine. Only once the shine is removed can you move forward in removing the gel.
STEP 2 – Soak the gel off. Cover cotton balls in 100% acetone.
The gel won’t come off if you don’t use 100% acetone. Take 10 pieces of cotton balls and soak them in your acetone. The cotton balls should be big enough to cover your whole nail.
STEP 3 – Wrap the foil around your fingertips.
Take one of you cotton balls and place it on your nail, covering your entire nail. With the cotton ball in place, wrap the nail and the tip of your finger with tin foil. Do this over the rest of your nails.
STEP 4 – Let sit for 15 minutes and then remove one at a time.
Let the foil stay wrapped for 15 minutes. Don’t try pulling it open to check if it’s working—keep it shut. After 15 minutes, remove the wrapping one nail at a time. The gel will have started to peel back. Use a cuticle stick to push the gel off your nail.
Q&A
1. Why do gel nails peel off?
Reason #1: the nail plate wasn’t prepared properly. The nail plate has excess of oil residue, debris, and cuticle wasn’t removed. Nail plates should always be wiped with 99% alcohol prior to polishing to get rid of any left over oils that will prevent bonding.
Reason #2: the polish has gotten on the cuticle. Always ensure that you stay at least 1/16 away from walls and cuticle to ensure it doesn’t get on cuticles.
Reason #3: the polish has been applied to thick. Always remove excessive gel from the brush before application and apply very THIN layers.
Reason #4: base coat and gel polish incompatibility. Some products from different brands might be incompatible and their formula doesn’t bind together. For better results use In.Hype base coat.
TIP: If all else fails you can try to lightly buff with a nail buffer on top of the nail plates to sort of rough up the plate to give the polish a grittier surface to stick to
2. Dull & Streaky Top Coat
Reason #1: The tacky (also called inhibition) layer of color coat isn’t compatible with top coat brand.
Reason #2: UV or LED Lamp doesn’t have a proper power and isn’t curing properly the top coat.
Reason #3: The top coat wasn’t cured for enough amount of time.
TIP:
Cleansing nail with at least 70% Isopropyl Alcohol after the final cure under the UV/LED lamp will give the gel that diamond shine!
